The National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU), established in 1997, has consistently been accredited as one of the leading legal institutions of the country. The Moot Court Association (‘MCA’) is one of the oldest student-bodies at NLIU; established in 2002. The MCA is responsible for all the mooting and allied activities like client counselling competitions. For this edition of the NLIU National Corporate Law Moot, we have VKC Law Offices as the Joint Organizer of the Moot. VKC Law Offices, based in New Delhi, led by Mr. Varun Kumar Chopra (Advocate, Supreme Court of India), is a well-established legal firm with a strong focus on diverse areas of litigation and arbitration.
With 11 successful editions, the NLIU National Corporate Law Moot is one of the oldest and most reputed corporate law based moots in India. The MCA has announced the twelfth edition of the NLIU – VKC Law Offices National Corporate Law Moot, 2026, scheduled to take place from 30th January to 1st February, 2026 on the campus of NLIU, Bhopal.
The competition shall be an invitation based event and all the registered teams shall submit the memorials as per the rules of the competition. The top 24 teams to score the highest marks in their respective memorials would be invited to compete in the oral rounds of the competition. The teams advancing to the oral rounds shall submit a Registration Fee of INR 10,000 to confirm their participation in the oral rounds. The oral rounds shall be held from 30th January, 2026 – 1st February, 2026 with each team having to participate in two preliminary rounds. The top 8 teams based on the scores of the preliminary rounds shall participate in the Advanced Rounds of the competition.
Eligibility: The competition is open to all law students enrolled in a 5-year integrated law course or a 3-year LLB program.
Theme: The moot proposition for this edition will be based on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code. The moot proposition has been released and sent to all the institutions registering provisionally.
Prizes: All teams participating in the memorial qualification rounds of the moot will receive certificates of participation. The following prizes will be awarded to recognize outstanding performance in the moot:
Winners: Rs 50,000 cash prize along with a trophy and certificates of merit
Runners Up: Rs. 30,000 cash prize along with a trophy and certificates of merit
Best Speaker: Rs. 10,000 cash prize along with an award and a certificate of merit
Best Memorial: Rs. 10,000 cash prize along with an award and certificates of merit
Timeline of the Moot
- Last Date for Provisional Registration: 7th November, 2025
- Last Date for Final Registration: 21st November, 2025
- Last date for sending Clarifications: 14th November, 2025
- Submission of Memorials (Soft-Copy): 21st December, 2025
- Declaration of Teams Qualifying the Memorial Round: 3rd January, 2026
- Oral Rounds: 30th January, 2026 – 1st February, 2026
Registration Process
