The Moot Court Association
The Moot Court Association (“MCA”) is the official student body responsible for mooting and allied activities at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal for both inter and intra college activities.
Established in 2002, the MCA is the flagship cell of NLIU and a leading force in the national mooting circuit. The MCA comprises of 18 student members who are led by the Faculty-In Charge for supervising the functions of the MCA.
The MCA is one of the most significant student-run bodies working in the University. Moot court competitions are quintessential for any law student in their endeavor to improve their researching and speaking capabilities. Hence, the MCA has a direct bearing on the future of the students and the institution itself as the number of opportunities provided to the students, help in realize the mission of the University.
Since the year of its constitution, it has been working consistently and tirelessly for the welfare of the students of NLIU. It gives students a plethora of opportunities to explore and participate in a number of mooting and co-curricular activities. The students of NLIU have consistently been performing phenomenally well at national and international level competitions which helps the MCA to set new standards of excellence every passing year.

Dr. Padma Singh
Dr. Padma Singh, a distinguished faculty member specializing in Business Law, has joined the Moot Court Association as its Faculty-in-Charge from this academic session. Dr. Singh has been an integral part of our college for the past decade, during which she has made significant contributions to the academic and professional growth of our students. Her extensive expertise in Business Law, coupled with her dedication to teaching, has earned her a reputation for excellence and mentorship. We eagerly look forward to benefiting from her wisdom and experience as we embark on this exciting journey together and thank her for her esteemed guidance.

Anwesh Patnaik, a fifth-year B.A.LL.B (Hons.) student has been an active mooter throughout his law school life and has represented NLIU in multiple leading international and national moot. Apart from being a versatile mooter, he’s made in the university by being an active member of several cells.

Rituraj Parmar, a fifth-year B.A.LL.B (Hons.) student is a well-respected personality in the mooting scene, backed by his researching skills and eloquence. Owing to his skills and determination, he has bagged multiple accolades on national levels making him a force to be reckoned with. Alongside all this he has a knack of juggling several cells and the hectic law school life.

Ishita Warghat, a fourth-year B.A.L.L.B. (Hons.) student at the university has been actively involved in the activity of mooting throughout her law school journey alongside multiple other types of competitions. She has represented NLIU at international moots multiple times and brought glory to the university. Alongside this, she has also been an expert at balancing between several cells within the university and has also aced it.
