8th NLIU – Singhania & Partners National Client Counselling Competition, 2026

The competition allows the participants to hone their practical skills of communicating with the clients through a simulation of a real client-counsel interaction. A collaboration between the NLIU Moot Court Association with Singhania & Partners LLP strives to provide a healthy competitive environment for participating teams, allowing them to grow and master this important skill.

The 3rd and the 4th editions of the NLIU National Client Counselling Competition were conducted virtually and saw great competitive energy with around 50+ Provisional Registrations for the same, despite the virtual nature of the competition. The 5th, 6th and 7th editions were conducted physically on the campus of NLIU in Bhopal. The competition is conducted in partnership with Singhania & Partner LLP and with the support of the participants, turned out to be a successful event, characterized by stellar competition between students from top law schools across the country.

The 2026 Edition

The NLIU Moot Court Association takes immense pleasure in announcing the 8th NLIU – Singhania & Partners National Client Counselling Competition, 2026, scheduled to take place from 21st to 23rd August, 2026 on campus of NLIU, Bhopal.

The MCA, with every successive edition of this renowned competition, hopes to part every participant, be it client or counsel with an enriched experience and a platform to express their zeal and rigour with respect to the legal sphere.

About the Competition

The competition is one of the most prestigious client counselling competitions organized in the country. It is one of our flagship events and Singhania & Partners LLP is our official institutional partner for the competition.

Being one of the client counselling competitions organised in the country, the final rounds and valedictory ceremony of the previous editions were graced by illustrious panels comprising Justice J.K. Maheshwari (Former Judge, Supreme Court of India) and Justice Suresh Kumar Kait (Former Chief Justice, High Court of Madhya Pradesh), Justice Vivek Agarwal (Judge, High Court of Madhya Pradesh), Justice Vishal Dhagat (Judge, High Court of Madhya Pradesh) and Mr. Ravi Singhania (Managing Partner, Singhania & Partners LLP).

We look forward to making the competition a huge success and a memorable learning experience for all the participating teams.

Format of the Competition

NLIU, Bhopal invites institutions to participate in this experience. The competition shall be organised in a physical mode. There is a maximum cap of 20 teams. The teams shall be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that a maximum of two teams are allowed per institution, subject to the prior approval of the organisers via email. The Registration Fee for the competition is INR 10,000/- for a 2-member team. Both the team members shall participate as counsels in the competition.

Timeline of the Competition

  • Last Date for Provisional Registration: 15th July, 2026
  • Last Date for Final Registration: 5th August, 2026
  • Competition Dates: 21st to 23rd August, 2026

Registration Procedure

  • Each institution may register up to two teams, subject to the availability of slots after provisional registration. In order to register a second team, the institution must write to us in advance and obtain prior permission.
